How to add Dividends to Mutual Fund?This feature in Portfolio Tracker enables you to manually enter the dividends received in units or in cash. Now let's assume that you have received Dividends for HDFC GOLD FUND G in cash and for SBI PSU Dividend in units. We need to update them in the Portfolio Tracker. Step 1 Go to the Portfolio Tracker Homepage, select the Mutual Fund portfolio and click on <Go> Now there are two ways to add Dividends to the scheme:
Method - I: Receive Dividends in cash let's assume that you have received Rs 250 as Dividends on HDFC GOLD FUND G. Step 2 Select HDFC GOLD FUND G and click on the Dividend Type drop down list. In this case, we select Cash as the Dividend Type. Step 3 Click on <Dividends> You will now be directed to the Enter Dividend Details page. Step 4 Here, enter the Dividend Date and Amount. For example, here we are entering Rs 250 as the Dividend Amount as received on 4th April 2012 and click on <Go> You will now be directed to the Consolidated Holdings Report. Method - II: Receive Dividends in units Through this method, you will register the dividends received in units. Now let's assume that you have received 24 units as dividends. Step 2 Select SBI PSU Dividend and click on the Dividend Type drop down. In this case, we select Units as the Dividend Type and click on <Dividends>. You will now be directed to the Enter Scheme Details page. Step 3 Here, enter the quantity of Dividends received. For example, in this case we have entered 24 as the quantity of dividends received. Step 4 Click on <Save > to add the Dividends to the scheme. You will now see a pop up stating that the entry has been saved successfully. Step 5 Click on <OK> to resume back to Consolidated Holdings Report. Here, you will now find that the total quantity of SBI PSU Dividend has changed from 227 to 299. |
