HPCL Gains 4%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 1.7%

HPCL share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 397.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 32,797.4 (up 1.7%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are BPCL (up 5.4%) and IOC (up 2.9%).

Reliance Ind. (down 0.4%) is among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, HPCL has moved up from Rs 201.2 to Rs 397.0, registering a gain of Rs 195.8 (up 97.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 19,480.3 to 32,797.4, registering a gain of 68.4% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were GAIL (up 101.7%), HPCL (up 97.3%) and ONGC (up 94.7%).

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,868.3 (up 0.1%). BPCL and Power Grid Corp. are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,707.2 to 81,395.1, registering a gain of 14,687.9 points (up 22.0%).

HPCL Financial Update...

HPCL net profit fell 95.9% YoY to Rs 2,459 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 60,658 million a year ago. Net sales rose 1.5% to Rs 1,209,433 million during the period as against Rs 1,191,623 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, HPCL reported 310.5% increase in net profit to Rs 146,938 million compared to net loss of Rs 69,802 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 2.3% to Rs 4,054,123 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HPCL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 10.1.
