Petronet LNG Gains 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 1.7%

Petronet LNG share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 351.5.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 30,880.9 (up 1.7%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are Indraprastha Gas (up 3.0%) and BPCL (up 3.0%).

Over the last one year, Petronet LNG has moved up from Rs 223.8 to Rs 351.5, registering a gain of Rs 127.7 (up 57.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 19,266.0 to 30,880.9, registering a gain of 60.3% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were GAIL (up 99.6%), ONGC (up 87.9%) and HPCL (up 76.5%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,148.9 (down 0.3%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Bajaj Finserv (down 2.4%) and Bajaj Finance (down 1.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,413.5 (down 0.3%). Bajaj Finserv and Tata Consumer Products are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,384.8 to 80,148.9, registering a gain of 13,764.1 points (up 20.7%).

Petronet LNG Financial Update...

Petronet LNG net profit grew 24.2% YoY to Rs 7,341 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 5,912 million a year ago. Net sales declined 0.6% to Rs 137,932 million during the period as against Rs 138,739 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, Petronet LNG reported 3.3% decrease in net profit to Rs 33,258 million compared to net profit of Rs 34,381 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 38.8% to Rs 598,994 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Petronet LNG, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 14.9.
