NLC India Gains 7%; BSE POWER Index Up 1.4%

NLC India share price has zoomed 7% and is presently trading at Rs 284.1.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 7,932.5 (up 1.4%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER index today are INDIAN ENERGY EXCHANGE (up 3.3%) and TORRENT POWER (up 3.1%).

Thermax (down 1.2%) and KEC INTERNATIONAL (down 0.7%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, NLC India has moved up from Rs 117.7 to Rs 284.1, registering a gain of Rs 166.4 (up 141.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,049.2 to 7,932.5, registering a gain of 95.9% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 216.8%), ADANI POWER (up 194.9%) and TORRENT POWER (up 154.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,207.9 (down 0.3%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Bajaj Finance (down 2.6%) and Bajaj Finserv (down 1.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and ITC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,432.0 (down 0.2%). Tata Consumer Products and Bajaj Finance are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,384.8 to 80,207.9, registering a gain of 13,823.1 points (up 20.8%).

NLC India Financial Update...

NLC India net profit fell 86.4% YoY to Rs 1,138 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 8,366 million a year ago. Net sales declined 31.0% to Rs 35,406 million during the period as against Rs 51,340 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, NLC India reported 27.8% increase in net profit to Rs 14,251 million compared to net profit of Rs 11,151 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 35.3% to Rs 161,652 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of NLC India, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 21.1.
