Tata Consumer Products Gains 4%; BSE FMCG Index Up 2.2%

Tata Consumer Products share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 1,246.2.

Meanwhile, the BSE FMCG index is at 22,479.3 (up 2.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE FMCG index today are ITC (up 4.3%) and AVANTI FEEDS (up 3.7%).

E.I.D. Parry (down 4.0%) and Godfrey Phillips (down 3.1%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Tata Consumer Products has moved up from Rs 859.6 to Rs 1,246.2, registering a gain of Rs 386.6 (up 45.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE FMCG index has moved up from 19,230.5 to 22,479.3, registering a gain of 16.9% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE FMCG index stocks during this same period were Godfrey Phillips (up 153.7%), JYOTHY LABS (up 109.6%) and Emami (up 93.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,368.3 (down 0.2%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are L&T (down 3.6%) and Bajaj Finance (down 2.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,494.4 (down 0.1%). L&T and Hindalco are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 67,097.4 to 80,368.3, registering a gain of 13,270.9 points (up 19.8%).

Tata Consumer Products Financial Update...

Tata Consumer Products net profit fell 22.5% YoY to Rs 2,677 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 3,456 million a year ago. Net sales rose 8.5% to Rs 39,269 million during the period as against Rs 36,187 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Tata Consumer Products reported 3.4% decrease in net profit to Rs 13,010 million compared to net profit of Rs 13,465 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 10.3% to Rs 152,059 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Tata Consumer Products, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 91.3.
