MRPL Plunges 3%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 0.3%

MRPL share price has plunged 3% and is presently trading at Rs 208.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 30,694.2 (down 0.3%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are BPCL (down 1.3%) and HPCL (down 1.2%).

ADANI TOTAL GAS (up 1.6%) and Petronet LNG (up 0.7%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, MRPL has moved up from Rs 86.9 to Rs 208.0, registering a gain of Rs 121.1 (up 139.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 19,268.3 to 30,694.2, registering a gain of 59.3% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were GAIL (up 103.4%), ONGC (up 90.4%) and HPCL (up 72.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,581.7 (up 0.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Ultratech Cement (up 1.3%) and M&M (up 0.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,516.5 . Eicher Motor and Ultratech Cement are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 67,097.4 to 80,581.7, registering a gain of 13,484.3 points (up 20.1%).

MRPL Financial Update...

MRPL net profit fell 93.5% YoY to Rs 656 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 10,127 million a year ago. Net sales rose 9.9% to Rs 272,894 million during the period as against Rs 248,251 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, MRPL reported 10.2% decrease in net profit to Rs 26,554 million compared to net profit of Rs 29,583 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 74.0% to Rs 929,762 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MRPL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 13.8.
