NLC India Plunges 6%; BSE POWER Index Down 1.7%

NLC India share price has plunged 6% and is presently trading at Rs 276.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 7,921.3 (down 1.7%).

Among the top losers in the BSE POWER index today are Siemens (down 4.5%) and NHPC (down 4.1%).

TORRENT POWER (up 0.5%) and KEC INTERNATIONAL (up 0.3%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, NLC India has moved up from Rs 118.4 to Rs 276.0, registering a gain of Rs 157.7 (up 133.2%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 3,983.3 to 7,921.3, registering a gain of 98.9% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 231.3%), ADANI POWER (up 185.2%) and TORRENT POWER (up 154.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,343.5 (up 0.8%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are TCS (up 2.9%) and Bajaj Finserv (up 2.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,779.4 (up 0.7%). LTIMINDTREE and ONGC are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,589.9 to 81,343.5, registering a gain of 14,753.5 points (up 22.2%).

NLC India Financial Update...

NLC India net profit fell 86.4% YoY to Rs 1,138 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 8,366 million a year ago. Net sales declined 31.0% to Rs 35,406 million during the period as against Rs 51,340 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, NLC India reported 27.8% increase in net profit to Rs 14,251 million compared to net profit of Rs 11,151 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 35.3% to Rs 161,652 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of NLC India, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 20.5.
