SARASWATI IND Plunges 6%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Down 2.0%

SARASWATI IND share price has plunged 6% and is presently trading at Rs 1,405.8.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 72,945.7 (down 2.0%).

Among the top losers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are HINDUSTAN AERO. (down 5.9%) and Finolex Cables (down 5.0%).

L&T (up 0.3%) is among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, SARASWATI IND has moved up from Rs 715.8 to Rs 1,405.8, registering a gain of Rs 690.1 (up 96.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 41,426.7 to 72,945.7, registering a gain of 76.1% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 231.3%), HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 162.7%) and Bharat Electronics (up 146.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,343.5 (up 0.8%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are TCS (up 2.9%) and Bajaj Finserv (up 2.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,779.4 (up 0.7%). LTIMINDTREE and ONGC are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,589.9 to 81,343.5, registering a gain of 14,753.5 points (up 22.2%).

SARASWATI IND Financial Update...

SARASWATI IND net profit fell 22.7% YoY to Rs 720 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 931 million a year ago. Net sales declined 8.6% to Rs 18,680 million during the period as against Rs 20,427 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, SARASWATI IND reported 78.8% increase in net profit to Rs 2,055 million compared to net profit of Rs 1,150 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 16.4% to Rs 63,990 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of SARASWATI IND, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 40.6.
