Bajaj Auto Plunges 3%; BSE AUTO Index Down 0.5%

Bajaj Auto share price has plunged 3% and is presently trading at Rs 9,492.9.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO index is at 57,475.3 (down 0.5%).

Among the top losers in the BSE AUTO index today are Eicher Motor (down 2.0%) and Hero Motocorp (down 1.4%).

Bosch (up 0.7%) and TUBE INVESTMENTS OF INDIA (up 0.6%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Bajaj Auto has moved up from Rs 4,830.6 to Rs 9,492.9, registering a gain of Rs 4,662.3 (up 96.5%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO index has moved up from 35,665.1 to 57,475.3, registering a gain of 61.2% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO index stocks during this same period were Motherson Sumi (up 109.1%), Cummins India (up 101.8%) and Bajaj Auto (up 96.5%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,609.7 (down 0.1%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Asian Paints (down 2.5%) and Tata Steel (down 1.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,542.6 (down 0.3%). Asian Paints and Hero Motocorp are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,589.9 to 80,609.7, registering a gain of 14,019.8 points (up 21.1%).

Bajaj Auto Financial Update...

Bajaj Auto net profit grew 18.1% YoY to Rs 19,418 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 16,441 million a year ago. Net sales rose 15.7% to Rs 119,321 million during the period as against Rs 103,119 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Bajaj Auto reported 27.2% increase in net profit to Rs 77,082 million compared to net profit of Rs 60,602 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 23.1% to Rs 448,704 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Bajaj Auto, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 34.3.
