POKARNA Gains 6%; BSE METAL Index Up 0.6%

POKARNA share price has zoomed 6% and is presently trading at Rs 739.9.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 33,149.9 (up 0.6%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE METAL index today are Coal India (up 2.7%) and Hindustan Zinc (up 1.9%).

Vedanta (down 1.1%) and APOLLO TUBES (down 1.0%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, POKARNA has moved up from Rs 413.3 to Rs 739.9, registering a gain of Rs 326.6 (up 79.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved up from 21,107.3 to 33,149.9, registering a gain of 57.1% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were NMDC (up 127.6%), Coal India (up 115.6%) and Hindustan Zinc (up 105.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,795.1 (down 0.2%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Nestle (down 1.8%) and NTPC (down 1.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Power Grid Corp..

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,293.6 (down 0.1%). Nestle and NTPC are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,344.2 to 79,795.1, registering a gain of 14,451.0 points (up 22.1%).

POKARNA Financial Update...

POKARNA net profit grew 48.7% YoY to Rs 164 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 110 million a year ago. Net sales rose 0.3% to Rs 1,616 million during the period as against Rs 1,612 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, POKARNA reported 16.0% decrease in net profit to Rs 658 million compared to net profit of Rs 783 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 12.0% to Rs 7,280 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of POKARNA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 26.0.
