SJVN Gains 3%; BSE POWER Index Up 0.3%

SJVN share price has zoomed 3% and is presently trading at Rs 139.9.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 7,997.0 (up 0.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER index today are NHPC (up 2.0%) and ABB (up 1.3%).

INDIAN ENERGY EXCHANGE (down 1.0%) and ADANI ENERGY SOLUTIONS (down 0.9%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, SJVN has moved up from Rs 42.4 to Rs 139.9, registering a gain of Rs 97.5 (up 229.9%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,005.2 to 7,997.0, registering a gain of 99.7% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 252.1%), ADANI POWER (up 186.6%) and TORRENT POWER (up 149.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,049.1 (up 0.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are HCl Tech. (up 3.0%) and ICICI Bank (up 2.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,309.1 (up 0.1%). HCl Tech. and ICICI Bank are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,205.1 to 80,049.1, registering a gain of 14,844.1 points (up 22.8%).

SJVN Financial Update...

SJVN net profit fell 50.1% YoY to Rs 733 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 1,469 million a year ago. Net sales declined 4.1% to Rs 4,829 million during the period as against Rs 5,038 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, SJVN reported 37.3% increase in net profit to Rs 13,593 million compared to net profit of Rs 9,898 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 21.6% to Rs 29,384 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of SJVN, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 59.9.
