MAHANAGAR GAS share price has plunged 2% and is presently trading at Rs 1,663.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 29,601.5 (down 0.1%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are GAIL (down 1.1%) and GUJARAT GAS (down 1.1%).

Reliance Ind. (up 0.5%) and IOC (up 0.2%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, MAHANAGAR GAS has moved up from Rs 1,080.8 to Rs 1,663.0, registering a gain of Rs 582.2 (up 53.9%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,625.6 to 29,601.5, registering a gain of 58.9% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were GAIL (up 104.6%), IOC (up 77.9%) and HPCL (up 74.5%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,155.2 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are HCl Tech. (up 2.7%) and ICICI Bank (up 1.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Motors and HDFC Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,334.6 (up 0.2%). HCl Tech. and Infosys are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,205.1 to 80,155.2, registering a gain of 14,950.2 points (up 22.9%).

MAHANAGAR GAS Financial Update...

MAHANAGAR GAS net profit fell 6.2% YoY to Rs 2,523 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 2,688 million a year ago. Net sales declined 0.0% to Rs 17,715 million during the period as against Rs 17,718 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, MAHANAGAR GAS reported 32.3% increase in net profit to Rs 7,901 million compared to net profit of Rs 5,970 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 75.5% to Rs 56,776 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MAHANAGAR GAS, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 12.9.
