BHEL Gains 5%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Up 1.0%

BHEL share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 312.5.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 73,776.9 (up 1.0%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are TIMKEN INDIA (up 3.2%) and V GUARD IND. (up 3.0%).

SKF India (down 0.8%) and SCHAEFFLER INDIA (down 0.7%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, BHEL has moved up from Rs 88.3 to Rs 312.5, registering a gain of Rs 224.2 (up 253.9%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 40,540.3 to 73,776.9, registering a gain of 82.0% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 253.9%), HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 189.8%) and Bharat Electronics (up 154.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,010.5 (up 0.7%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (up 2.6%) and Kotak Bank (up 2.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,293.4 (up 0.7%). Tata Consumer Products and Kotak Bank are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,205.1 to 80,010.5, registering a gain of 14,805.4 points (up 22.7%).

BHEL Financial Update...

BHEL net profit fell 26.2% YoY to Rs 4,760 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 6,451 million a year ago. Net sales rose 0.4% to Rs 82,603 million during the period as against Rs 82,270 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, BHEL reported 7.3% increase in net profit to Rs 4,774 million compared to net profit of Rs 4,447 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 8.5% to Rs 197,989 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BHEL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at -356.6.
