Ashok Leyland share price has plunged 3% and is presently trading at Rs 227.2.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO index is at 57,204.7 (up 0.2%).

Among the top losers in the BSE AUTO index today are Tata Motors (down 0.3%) and TVS Motors (down 0.1%).

Eicher Motor (up 1.2%) and TUBE INVESTMENTS OF INDIA (up 1.0%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Ashok Leyland has moved up from Rs 167.2 to Rs 227.2, registering a gain of Rs 60.0 (up 35.9%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO index has moved up from 34,767.3 to 57,204.7, registering a gain of 64.5% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO index stocks during this same period were Motherson Sumi (up 137.7%), Cummins India (up 108.4%) and Bajaj Auto (up 105.3%).

The BSE Sensex is at 79,880.3 (up 0.6%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are HDFC Bank (up 3.1%) and Axis Bank (up 1.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and HDFC Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,261.5 (up 0.6%). HDFC Bank and Tata Consumer Products are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,205.1 to 79,880.3, registering a gain of 14,675.3 points (up 22.5%).

Ashok Leyland Financial Update...

Ashok Leyland net profit grew 17.2% YoY to Rs 9,279 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 7,918 million a year ago. Net sales rose 2.8% to Rs 135,776 million during the period as against Rs 132,026 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, Ashok Leyland reported 577.0% increase in net profit to Rs 13,617 million compared to net loss of Rs 2,855 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 58.8% to Rs 416,726 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Ashok Leyland, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 24.9.
