POKARNA Gains 15%; BSE METAL Index Up 1.3%

POKARNA share price has zoomed 15% and is presently trading at Rs 1,220.3.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 30,927.2 (up 1.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE METAL index today are JSW Steel (up 2.5%) and Vedanta (up 1.6%).

APOLLO TUBES (down 0.5%) and Hindustan Zinc (down 0.2%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, POKARNA has moved up from Rs 534.5 to Rs 1,220.3, registering a gain of Rs 685.8 (up 128.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved up from 24,068.4 to 30,927.2, registering a gain of 28.5% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were Vedanta (up 96.6%), Hindustan Zinc (up 67.5%) and Jindal Steel (up 37.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,248.1 (up 0.6%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Ultratech Cement (up 3.9%) and JSW Steel (up 2.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,275.3 (up 0.6%). Ultratech Cement and APOLLO HOSPITALS are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,174.2 to 80,248.1, registering a gain of 14,073.9 points (up 21.3%).

POKARNA Financial Update...

POKARNA net profit grew 35.0% YoY to Rs 449 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 333 million a year ago. Net sales rose 25.9% to Rs 2,513 million during the period as against Rs 1,996 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, POKARNA reported 34.2% increase in net profit to Rs 914 million compared to net profit of Rs 681 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 5.2% to Rs 6,876 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of POKARNA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 32.7.
