Castrol Gains 6%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 0.3%

Castrol share price has zoomed 6% and is presently trading at Rs 213.2.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 26,734.3 (down 0.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are Indraprastha Gas (up 3.9%) and Petronet LNG (up 1.4%).

ADANI TOTAL GAS (down 4.4%) and IOC (down 1.0%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Castrol has moved up from Rs 140.7 to Rs 213.2, registering a gain of Rs 72.6 (up 51.6%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 20,125.9 to 26,734.3, registering a gain of 32.8% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were Petronet LNG (up 72.0%), HPCL (up 66.1%) and GAIL (up 58.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,882.5 (up 0.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Ultratech Cement (up 4.7%) and M&M (up 1.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,172.7 (up 0.2%). Ultratech Cement and Grasim Industries are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,174.2 to 79,882.5, registering a gain of 13,708.3 points (up 20.7%).

Castrol Financial Update...

Castrol net profit grew 6.7% YoY to Rs 2,074 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 1,944 million a year ago. Net sales rose 8.9% to Rs 12,882 million during the period as against Rs 11,829 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended December 2023, Castrol reported 6.0% increase in net profit to Rs 8,641 million compared to net profit of Rs 8,152 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 6.3% to Rs 50,746 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Castrol, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 23.5.
