MAHANAGAR GAS Gains 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 0.6%

MAHANAGAR GAS share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 1,771.6.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 29,737.3 (up 0.6%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are ADANI TOTAL GAS (up 2.2%) and ONGC (up 1.4%).

HPCL (down 0.8%) is among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, MAHANAGAR GAS has moved up from Rs 1,034.5 to Rs 1,771.6, registering a gain of Rs 737.1 (up 71.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,084.9 to 29,737.3, registering a gain of 64.4% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were GAIL (up 114.9%), IOC (up 85.8%) and HPCL (up 83.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,501.6 .

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Infosys (up 1.2%) and HCl Tech. (up 0.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,133.3 . HDFC LIFE INSURANCE and Tata Motors are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,915.4 to 79,501.6, registering a gain of 15,586.2 points (up 24.4%).

MAHANAGAR GAS Financial Update...

MAHANAGAR GAS net profit fell 6.2% YoY to Rs 2,523 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 2,688 million a year ago. Net sales declined 0.0% to Rs 17,715 million during the period as against Rs 17,718 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, MAHANAGAR GAS reported 32.3% increase in net profit to Rs 7,901 million compared to net profit of Rs 5,970 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 75.5% to Rs 56,776 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MAHANAGAR GAS, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 13.7.
