Colgate Gains 4%; BSE FMCG Index Up 0.7%

Colgate share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 2,935.1.

Meanwhile, the BSE FMCG index is at 21,128.5 (up 0.7%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE FMCG index today are Balrampur Chini (up 3.7%) and Shree Renuka Sugars (up 3.6%).

Emami (down 4.8%) and Gillette India (down 3.0%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Colgate has moved up from Rs 2,170.1 to Rs 2,935.1, registering a gain of Rs 765.0 (up 35.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE FMCG index has moved up from 19,049.7 to 21,128.5, registering a gain of 10.9% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE FMCG index stocks during this same period were Godfrey Phillips (up 182.9%), E.I.D. Parry (up 75.2%) and BOM.BURMAH (up 73.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,926.6 (down 0.2%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (down 3.3%) and Ultratech Cement (down 2.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,150.7 (down 0.3%). Adani Enterprises and MUNDRA PORT & SEZ are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,023.2 to 79,926.6, registering a gain of 13,903.3 points (up 21.1%).

Colgate Financial Update...

Colgate net profit grew 16.2% YoY to Rs 3,951 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 3,401 million a year ago. Net sales rose 10.1% to Rs 16,191 million during the period as against Rs 14,711 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Colgate reported 26.4% increase in net profit to Rs 13,237 million compared to net profit of Rs 10,471 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 8.7% to Rs 56,804 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Colgate, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 54.3.
