Wockhardt Gains 8%; BSE HEALTHCARE Index Up 0.1%

Wockhardt share price has zoomed 8% and is presently trading at Rs 887.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE HEALTHCARE index is at 37,289.9 (up 0.1%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE HEALTHCARE index today are J.B.Chemicals (up 2.4%) and ALEMBIC PHARMA (up 2.2%).

MAX HEALTHCARE INSTITUTE (down 1.5%) and KIMS (down 0.6%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Wockhardt has moved up from Rs 235.3 to Rs 887.0, registering a gain of Rs 651.7 (up 277.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE HEALTHCARE index has moved up from 25,634.3 to 37,289.9, registering a gain of 45.5% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE HEALTHCARE index stocks during this same period were Glenmark Pharma (up 86.3%), Cadila Healthcare (up 83.7%) and CAPLIN POINT (up 83.5%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,620.3 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are HCl Tech. (up 1.2%) and Bharti Airtel (up 1.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,176.0 (up 0.1%). Wipro and ONGC are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,915.4 to 79,620.3, registering a gain of 15,704.9 points (up 24.6%).

Wockhardt Financial Update...

Wockhardt net profit grew 25.3% YoY to Rs -1,770 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a loss of Rs 2,370 million a year ago. Net sales rose 3.2% to Rs 7,000 million during the period as against Rs 6,780 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Wockhardt reported 24.0% increase in net profit to Rs -4,720 million compared to net loss of Rs 6,210 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 5.5% to Rs 27,980 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Wockhardt, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at -28.8.
