L&T Gains 4%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Up 3.5%

L&T share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 3,747.1.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 69,778.3 (up 3.5%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are Siemens (up 6.4%) and ABB (up 4.5%).

Thermax (down 0.9%) and ADANI GREEN ENERGY (down 0.6%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, L&T has moved up from Rs 3,073.8 to Rs 3,747.1, registering a gain of Rs 673.4 (up 21.9%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 48,608.7 to 69,778.3, registering a gain of 43.6% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were Bharat Electronics (up 105.3%), Siemens (up 103.1%) and HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 99.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,969.4 (up 1.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are SBI (up 3.6%) and MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (up 3.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Power Grid Corp. and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,203.5 (up 1.2%). ONGC and Shriram Transport are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,930.8 to 79,969.4, registering a gain of 14,038.7 points (up 21.3%).

L&T Financial Update...

L&T net profit grew 6.7% YoY to Rs 41,128 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 38,556 million a year ago. Net sales rose 20.6% to Rs 615,546 million during the period as against Rs 510,240 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, L&T reported 23.3% increase in net profit to Rs 155,697 million compared to net profit of Rs 126,249 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 20.6% to Rs 2,211,129 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of L&T, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 31.9.
