Reliance Power Gains 10%; BSE POWER Index Up 1.3%

Reliance Power share price has zoomed 10% and is presently trading at Rs 31.5.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 7,825.5 (up 1.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER index today are Siemens (up 2.4%) and ABB (up 2.2%).

ADANI POWER (down 0.8%) and TORRENT POWER (down 0.2%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Reliance Power has moved up from Rs 15.9 to Rs 31.5, registering a gain of Rs 15.7 (up 98.9%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 3,950.9 to 7,825.5, registering a gain of 98.1% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 245.4%), ADANI POWER (up 178.6%) and TORRENT POWER (up 131.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 76,916.0 (up 0.6%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Power Grid Corp. (up 2.0%) and Bajaj Finance (up 1.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,418.9 (up 0.7%). Coal India and Power Grid Corp. are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 62,724.7 to 76,916.0, registering a gain of 14,191.3 points (up 22.6%).

Reliance Power Financial Update...

Reliance Power net profit fell 260.7% YoY to Rs -4,153 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 2,584 million a year ago. Net sales rose 15.6% to Rs 19,967 million during the period as against Rs 17,268 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, Reliance Power reported 60.9% increase in net profit to Rs -3,614 million compared to net loss of Rs 9,232 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 0.5% to Rs 75,427 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Reliance Power, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at -5.6.
