Oil India Gains 4%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 1.6%

Oil India share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 728.9.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 29,504.0 (up 1.6%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are Indraprastha Gas (up 4.2%) and Petronet LNG (up 2.6%).

ADANI TOTAL GAS (down 0.4%) and HPCL (down 0.3%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Oil India has moved up from Rs 241.6 to Rs 728.9, registering a gain of Rs 487.3 (up 201.7%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 17,956.4 to 29,504.0, registering a gain of 64.3% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were GAIL (up 111.4%), IOC (up 85.3%) and HPCL (up 84.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,255.8 .

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Motors (up 2.4%) and Reliance Ind. (up 2.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,080.1 (up 0.2%). Dr. Reddys and ONGC are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 62,970.0 to 79,255.8, registering a gain of 16,285.8 points (up 25.9%).

Oil India Financial Update...

Oil India net profit fell 9.5% YoY to Rs 19,738 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 21,807 million a year ago. Net sales rose 16.0% to Rs 101,658 million during the period as against Rs 87,643 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, Oil India reported 46.7% increase in net profit to Rs 98,544 million compared to net profit of Rs 67,192 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 42.9% to Rs 311,558 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Oil India, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 12.1.
