Petronet LNG Plunges 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 2.3%

Petronet LNG share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 328.9.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 27,264.9 (down 2.3%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are GUJARAT GAS (down 3.6%) and HPCL (down 3.3%).

Indraprastha Gas (up 0.6%) is among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Petronet LNG has moved up from Rs 202.7 to Rs 328.9, registering a gain of Rs 126.2 (up 62.2%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,960.3 to 27,264.9, registering a gain of 43.8% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 119.5%), BPCL (up 67.9%) and GAIL (up 65.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,350.7 (down 0.2%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Asian Paints (down 2.7%) and ICICI Bank (down 1.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,119.5 (down 0.3%). Asian Paints and Coal India are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 64,958.7 to 79,350.7, registering a gain of 14,392.0 points (up 22.2%).

Petronet LNG Financial Update...

Petronet LNG net profit grew 4.2% YoY to Rs 8,490 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 8,149 million a year ago. Net sales rose 3.9% to Rs 130,243 million during the period as against Rs 125,326 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Petronet LNG reported 10.6% increase in net profit to Rs 35,270 million compared to net profit of Rs 31,878 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 12.0% to Rs 527,293 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Petronet LNG, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 12.7.
