HPCL Gains 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 2.6%

HPCL share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 392.1.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 28,005.8 (up 2.6%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are GAIL (up 5.8%) and BPCL (up 3.1%).

Over the last one year, HPCL has moved up from Rs 174.7 to Rs 392.1, registering a gain of Rs 217.4 (up 124.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,960.3 to 28,005.8, registering a gain of 47.7% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 124.4%), BPCL (up 73.3%) and Petronet LNG (up 68.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,420.7 (up 1.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are TCS (up 4.4%) and HCl Tech. (up 4.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ITC and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,472.6 (up 1.1%). Bharat Electronics and TCS are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 64,958.7 to 80,420.7, registering a gain of 15,462.0 points (up 23.8%).

HPCL Financial Update...

HPCL net profit fell 89.6% YoY to Rs 5,347 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 51,280 million a year ago. Net sales rose 5.5% to Rs 1,082,676 million during the period as against Rs 1,026,693 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, HPCL reported 329.4% increase in net profit to Rs 160,146 million compared to net loss of Rs 69,802 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 2.2% to Rs 4,057,439 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HPCL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 22.0.
