MRPL Gains 6%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 0.3%

MRPL share price has zoomed 6% and is presently trading at Rs 156.8.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 26,911.6 (down 0.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are ONGC (up 0.4%) and ADANI TOTAL GAS (up 0.1%).

GAIL (down 1.7%) and GUJARAT GAS (down 1.4%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, MRPL has moved up from Rs 104.0 to Rs 156.8, registering a gain of Rs 52.9 (up 50.8%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,296.0 to 26,911.6, registering a gain of 47.1% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 118.2%), BPCL (up 69.5%) and Petronet LNG (up 69.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 78,423.7 (down 0.5%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (down 3.2%) and Bajaj Finance (down 1.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,889.1 (down 0.4%). HDFC LIFE INSURANCE and MUNDRA PORT & SEZ are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,591.3 to 78,423.7, registering a gain of 14,832.4 points (up 23.3%).

MRPL Financial Update...

MRPL net profit fell 167.4% YoY to Rs -7,048 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 10,458 million a year ago. Net sales rose 26.0% to Rs 287,859 million during the period as against Rs 228,438 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, MRPL reported 35.5% increase in net profit to Rs 35,971 million compared to net profit of Rs 26,554 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 19.0% to Rs 755,901 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MRPL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 31.1.
