ABB Plunges 4%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Down 0.5%

ABB share price has plunged 4% and is presently trading at Rs 7,084.8.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 68,207.8 (down 0.5%).

Among the top losers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are V GUARD IND. (down 2.2%) and TIMKEN INDIA (down 1.8%).

Bharat Forge (up 1.5%) and Graphite India (up 1.1%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, ABB has moved up from Rs 4,053.1 to Rs 7,084.8, registering a gain of Rs 3,031.7 (up 74.8%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 45,514.4 to 68,207.8, registering a gain of 49.9% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 128.3%), Bharat Electronics (up 113.3%) and Siemens (up 107.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 78,715.6 (down 0.1%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (down 2.4%) and ITC (down 1.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,981.1 (down 0.1%). Coal India and MUNDRA PORT & SEZ are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,591.3 to 78,715.6, registering a gain of 15,124.2 points (up 23.8%).

ABB Financial Update...

ABB net profit grew 21.7% YoY to Rs 4,405 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 3,620 million a year ago. Net sales rose 5.2% to Rs 29,122 million during the period as against Rs 27,692 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended December 2023, ABB reported 21.7% increase in net profit to Rs 12,482 million compared to net profit of Rs 10,256 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 21.9% to Rs 104,465 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of ABB, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 88.9.
