POKARNA Gains 5%; BSE METAL Index Up 0.2%

POKARNA share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 756.8.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 32,717.2 (up 0.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE METAL index today are JSW Steel (up 2.4%) and Hindustan Zinc (up 0.9%).

NMDC (down 1.9%) and SAIL (down 0.7%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, POKARNA has moved up from Rs 373.3 to Rs 756.8, registering a gain of Rs 383.5 (up 102.7%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved up from 20,144.1 to 32,717.2, registering a gain of 62.4% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were NMDC (up 133.3%), Hindustan Zinc (up 113.3%) and Coal India (up 107.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,194.7 (up 0.7%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Ultratech Cement (up 3.1%) and JSW Steel (up 2.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Power Grid Corp..

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,959.6 (up 0.4%). Grasim Industries and Ultratech Cement are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 62,970.0 to 79,194.7, registering a gain of 16,224.7 points (up 25.8%).

POKARNA Financial Update...

POKARNA net profit grew 48.7% YoY to Rs 164 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 110 million a year ago. Net sales rose 0.3% to Rs 1,616 million during the period as against Rs 1,612 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, POKARNA reported 16.0% decrease in net profit to Rs 658 million compared to net profit of Rs 783 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 12.0% to Rs 7,280 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of POKARNA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 26.6.
