IOC Plunges 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 2.8%

IOC share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 137.5.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 26,869.5 (down 2.8%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are HPCL (down 3.9%) and BPCL (down 3.8%).

Petronet LNG (up 1.1%) is among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, IOC has moved up from Rs 89.7 to Rs 137.5, registering a gain of Rs 47.7 (up 53.2%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,233.1 to 26,869.5, registering a gain of 47.4% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 122.3%), BPCL (up 72.7%) and Petronet LNG (up 69.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 78,569.4 (down 1.6%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Sun Pharma (down 3.9%) and NTPC (down 3.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ICICI Bank and Reliance Ind..

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,919.1 (down 1.6%). Hero Motocorp and Bajaj Auto are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,874.9 to 78,569.4, registering a gain of 14,694.5 points (up 23.0%).

IOC Financial Update...

IOC net profit fell 108.4% YoY to Rs -11,239 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 133,905 million a year ago. Net sales declined 3.2% to Rs 1,986,158 million during the period as against Rs 2,052,830 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, IOC reported 268.8% increase in net profit to Rs 431,612 million compared to net profit of Rs 117,043 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 8.3% to Rs 6,714,683 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of IOC, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 12.2.
