Emami Plunges 4%; BSE FMCG Index Down 0.7%

Emami share price has plunged 4% and is presently trading at Rs 690.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE FMCG index is at 21,667.8 (down 0.7%).

Among the top losers in the BSE FMCG index today are JYOTHY LABS (down 3.2%) and Gujarat Ambuja (down 2.4%).

Gillette India (up 6.0%) and Zydus Wellness (up 0.6%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Emami has moved up from Rs 510.5 to Rs 690.0, registering a gain of Rs 179.6 (up 35.2%).

On the other hand, the BSE FMCG index has moved up from 18,518.4 to 21,667.8, registering a gain of 17.0% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE FMCG index stocks during this same period were Godfrey Phillips (up 194.3%), BOM.BURMAH (up 100.5%) and RADICO KHAITAN (up 97.0%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,073.2 (down 1.0%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Sun Pharma (down 3.1%) and Infosys (down 2.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,076.7 (down 0.9%). Bajaj Auto and IOC are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,874.9 to 79,073.2, registering a gain of 15,198.2 points (up 23.8%).

Emami Financial Update...

Emami net profit grew 11.3% YoY to Rs 1,527 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 1,373 million a year ago. Net sales rose 9.7% to Rs 9,061 million during the period as against Rs 8,257 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Emami reported 15.4% increase in net profit to Rs 7,241 million compared to net profit of Rs 6,274 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 5.1% to Rs 35,781 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Emami, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 40.5.
