Colgate Plunges 3%; BSE FMCG Index Up 1.4%

Colgate share price has plunged 3% and is presently trading at Rs 3,111.3.

Meanwhile, the BSE FMCG index is at 21,585.5 (up 1.4%).

Among the top losers in the BSE FMCG index today are Ruchi Soya Industries (down 1.0%) and KRBL (down 0.8%).

RADICO KHAITAN (up 9.3%) and ITC (up 3.0%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Colgate has moved up from Rs 2,075.7 to Rs 3,111.3, registering a gain of Rs 1,035.6 (up 49.9%).

On the other hand, the BSE FMCG index has moved up from 18,541.7 to 21,585.5, registering a gain of 16.4% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE FMCG index stocks during this same period were Godfrey Phillips (up 213.1%), RADICO KHAITAN (up 111.5%) and BOM.BURMAH (up 95.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,130.0 (up 0.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are ITC (up 3.0%) and Axis Bank (up 2.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Indusind Bank and ITC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,393.2 . Indusind Bank and NTPC are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 64,571.9 to 80,130.0, registering a gain of 15,558.2 points (up 24.1%).

Colgate Financial Update...

Colgate net profit grew 16.2% YoY to Rs 3,951 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 3,401 million a year ago. Net sales rose 10.1% to Rs 16,191 million during the period as against Rs 14,711 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Colgate reported 26.4% increase in net profit to Rs 13,237 million compared to net profit of Rs 10,471 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 8.7% to Rs 56,804 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Colgate, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 57.6.
