Godrej Consumer Plunges 4%; BSE FMCG Index Down 2.5%

Godrej Consumer share price has plunged 4% and is presently trading at Rs 1,240.3.

Meanwhile, the BSE FMCG index is at 21,320.4 (down 2.5%).

Among the top losers in the BSE FMCG index today are Hindustan Unilever (down 6.3%) and Nestle (down 4.1%).

BOM.BURMAH (up 5.9%) and JYOTHY LABS (up 2.4%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Godrej Consumer has moved up from Rs 980.8 to Rs 1,240.3, registering a gain of Rs 259.5 (up 26.5%).

On the other hand, the BSE FMCG index has moved up from 18,541.7 to 21,320.4, registering a gain of 15.0% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE FMCG index stocks during this same period were Godfrey Phillips (up 224.2%), BOM.BURMAH (up 100.7%) and RADICO KHAITAN (up 91.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,060.9 .

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Hindustan Unilever (down 6.3%) and Nestle (down 4.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and ITC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,401.9 (down 0.1%). Hindustan Unilever and SBI LIFE INSURANCE are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 64,571.9 to 80,060.9, registering a gain of 15,489.0 points (up 24.0%).

Godrej Consumer Financial Update...

Godrej Consumer net profit grew 41.4% YoY to Rs 4,507 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 3,188 million a year ago. Net sales declined 3.4% to Rs 33,316 million during the period as against Rs 34,489 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Godrej Consumer reported 132.9% decrease in net profit to Rs -5,606 million compared to net profit of Rs 17,025 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 5.9% to Rs 140,961 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Godrej Consumer, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at -295.9.
