Wockhardt Gains 4%; BSE HEALTHCARE Index Up 0.2%

Wockhardt share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 1,111.5.

Meanwhile, the BSE HEALTHCARE index is at 42,813.4 (up 0.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE HEALTHCARE index today are ASTER DM HEALTHCARE (up 12.5%) and SYNGENE INTERNATIONAL (up 3.5%).

DR. LAL PATHLABS (down 2.7%) and Pfizer (down 1.4%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Wockhardt has moved up from Rs 226.3 to Rs 1,111.5, registering a gain of Rs 885.3 (up 391.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE HEALTHCARE index has moved up from 27,503.7 to 42,813.4, registering a gain of 55.7% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE HEALTHCARE index stocks during this same period were Jubilant Pharmova (up 213.2%), Glenmark Pharma (up 121.2%) and SUVEN PHARMACEUTICALS (up 118.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,844.3 (down 0.3%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Hindustan Unilever (down 5.3%) and Nestle (down 1.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,362.2 (down 0.3%). Hindustan Unilever and Hindalco are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 64,571.9 to 79,844.3, registering a gain of 15,272.4 points (up 23.7%).

Wockhardt Financial Update...

Wockhardt net profit grew 88.2% YoY to Rs -160 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a loss of Rs 1,360 million a year ago. Net sales rose 14.8% to Rs 7,390 million during the period as against Rs 6,440 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Wockhardt reported 24.0% increase in net profit to Rs -4,720 million compared to net loss of Rs 6,210 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 5.5% to Rs 27,980 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Wockhardt, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at -48.4.
