MRPL Gains 7%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 0.5%

MRPL share price has zoomed 7% and is presently trading at Rs 157.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 28,341.4 (down 0.5%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are ADANI TOTAL GAS (up 1.6%) and GUJARAT GAS (up 1.1%).

IOC (down 1.3%) and HPCL (down 1.0%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, MRPL has moved up from Rs 95.9 to Rs 157.0, registering a gain of Rs 61.1 (up 63.7%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,236.6 to 28,341.4, registering a gain of 55.4% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 139.7%), BPCL (up 88.6%) and GAIL (up 75.3%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are M&M (down 3.0%) and Sun Pharma (down 2.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,436.0 (down 0.2%). M&M and Sun Pharma are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 64,571.9 to 80,082.0, registering a gain of 15,510.1 points (up 24.0%).

MRPL Financial Update...

MRPL net profit fell 167.4% YoY to Rs -7,048 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 10,458 million a year ago. Net sales rose 26.0% to Rs 287,859 million during the period as against Rs 228,438 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, MRPL reported 35.5% increase in net profit to Rs 35,971 million compared to net profit of Rs 26,554 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 19.0% to Rs 755,901 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MRPL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 31.1.
