MRPL share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 150.9.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 28,926.2 (down 0.9%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are GAIL (down 1.5%) and BPCL (down 1.3%).

Indraprastha Gas (up 1.2%) is among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, MRPL has moved up from Rs 107.5 to Rs 150.9, registering a gain of Rs 43.5 (up 40.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 19,004.0 to 28,926.2, registering a gain of 52.2% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 139.5%), BPCL (up 86.6%) and IOC (up 74.4%).

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,719.8 (down 0.3%). Tata Motors and Tata Steel are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,877.0 to 80,968.0, registering a gain of 15,091.0 points (up 22.9%).

MRPL Financial Update...

MRPL net profit fell 167.4% YoY to Rs -7,048 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 10,458 million a year ago. Net sales rose 26.0% to Rs 287,859 million during the period as against Rs 228,438 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, MRPL reported 35.5% increase in net profit to Rs 35,971 million compared to net profit of Rs 26,554 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 19.0% to Rs 755,901 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MRPL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 29.9.
