BHEL Plunges 3%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Down 0.4%

BHEL share price has plunged 3% and is presently trading at Rs 262.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 72,029.5 (down 0.4%).

Among the top losers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are Siemens (down 2.2%) and HINDUSTAN AERO. (down 1.8%).

GRINDWELL NORTON (up 1.9%) and Graphite India (up 0.8%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, BHEL has moved up from Rs 131.1 to Rs 262.0, registering a gain of Rs 130.9 (up 99.8%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 48,111.6 to 72,029.5, registering a gain of 49.7% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 132.8%), Siemens (up 116.7%) and Bharat Electronics (up 106.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,314.7 (down 0.2%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are M&M (down 2.0%) and Maruti Suzuki (down 1.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,850.2 (down 0.5%). Bajaj Auto and Hero Motocorp are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,166.9 to 81,314.7, registering a gain of 15,147.8 points (up 22.9%).

BHEL Financial Update...

BHEL net profit fell 2.2% YoY to Rs -2,256 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a loss of Rs 2,208 million a year ago. Net sales rose 9.6% to Rs 54,849 million during the period as against Rs 50,034 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, BHEL reported 56.9% decrease in net profit to Rs 2,822 million compared to net profit of Rs 6,541 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 1.6% to Rs 201,068 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BHEL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at -534.3.
