Bajaj Auto Plunges 7%; BSE AUTO Index Down 2.2%

Bajaj Auto share price has plunged 7% and is presently trading at Rs 10,740.9.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO index is at 57,558.8 (down 2.2%).

Among the top losers in the BSE AUTO index today are Hero Motocorp (down 3.7%) and TVS Motors (down 3.5%).

Tata Motors (up 0.2%) is among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Bajaj Auto has moved up from Rs 5,077.8 to Rs 10,740.9, registering a gain of Rs 5,663.1 (up 111.5%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO index has moved up from 37,437.3 to 57,558.8, registering a gain of 53.7% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO index stocks during this same period were Cummins India (up 120.4%), Bajaj Auto (up 111.5%) and Motherson Sumi (up 109.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,525.1 .

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Infosys (up 1.2%) and L&T (up 1.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,956.8 (down 0.1%). Hero Motocorp and M&M are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,166.9 to 81,525.1, registering a gain of 15,358.2 points (up 23.2%).

Bajaj Auto Financial Update...

Bajaj Auto net profit grew 7.0% YoY to Rs 19,657 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 18,364 million a year ago. Net sales rose 22.2% to Rs 132,473 million during the period as against Rs 108,382 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Bajaj Auto reported 27.2% increase in net profit to Rs 77,082 million compared to net profit of Rs 60,602 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 23.1% to Rs 448,704 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Bajaj Auto, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 38.1.
