Colgate Plunges 3%; BSE FMCG Index Up 0.3%

Colgate share price has plunged 3% and is presently trading at Rs 3,560.8.

Meanwhile, the BSE FMCG index is at 22,685.8 (up 0.3%).

Among the top losers in the BSE FMCG index today are VST Industries (down 2.3%) and HATSUN AGRO PRODUCTS (down 2.3%).

Tata Coffee (up 3.6%) and GODREJ AGROVET (up 2.8%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Colgate has moved up from Rs 2,028.0 to Rs 3,560.8, registering a gain of Rs 1,532.8 (up 75.6%).

On the other hand, the BSE FMCG index has moved up from 18,753.6 to 22,685.8, registering a gain of 21.0% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE FMCG index stocks during this same period were Godfrey Phillips (up 209.9%), BOM.BURMAH (up 110.5%) and RADICO KHAITAN (up 75.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,953.8 (up 0.7%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Tech Mahindra (up 2.7%) and L&T (up 2.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,112.6 (up 0.6%). Wipro and L&T are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,079.4 to 81,953.8, registering a gain of 15,874.4 points (up 24.0%).

Colgate Financial Update...

Colgate net profit grew 33.0% YoY to Rs 3,640 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 2,737 million a year ago. Net sales rose 13.1% to Rs 14,967 million during the period as against Rs 13,237 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Colgate reported 26.4% increase in net profit to Rs 13,237 million compared to net profit of Rs 10,471 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 8.7% to Rs 56,804 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Colgate, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 68.5.
