TORRENT POWER Gains 3%; BSE POWER Index Up 0.1%

TORRENT POWER share price has zoomed 3% and is presently trading at Rs 1,949.3.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 8,430.0 (up 0.1%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER index today are ADANI ENERGY SOLUTIONS (up 1.3%) and ABB (up 0.8%).

INDIAN ENERGY EXCHANGE (down 1.6%) and Thermax (down 1.4%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, TORRENT POWER has moved up from Rs 724.7 to Rs 1,949.3, registering a gain of Rs 1,224.6 (up 169.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,512.1 to 8,430.0, registering a gain of 86.8% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were TORRENT POWER (up 169.0%), Siemens (up 115.0%) and BHEL (up 106.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,797.6 (up 0.5%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are L&T (up 1.9%) and HDFC Bank (up 1.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,100.2 (up 0.5%). Wipro and L&T are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,079.4 to 81,797.6, registering a gain of 15,718.2 points (up 23.8%).

TORRENT POWER Financial Update...

TORRENT POWER net profit grew 87.2% YoY to Rs 9,963 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 5,323 million a year ago. Net sales rose 23.3% to Rs 90,337 million during the period as against Rs 73,276 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, TORRENT POWER reported 12.4% decrease in net profit to Rs 18,960 million compared to net profit of Rs 21,647 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 5.8% to Rs 271,832 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of TORRENT POWER, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 39.7.
