HPCL Gains 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 0.2%

HPCL share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 405.4.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 30,220.0 (up 0.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are BPCL (up 2.3%) and IOC (up 1.7%).

ONGC (down 2.1%) and Petronet LNG (down 0.6%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, HPCL has moved up from Rs 167.8 to Rs 405.4, registering a gain of Rs 237.6 (up 141.5%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,450.6 to 30,220.0, registering a gain of 63.8% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 141.5%), BPCL (up 103.6%) and IOC (up 91.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,803.5 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Motors (up 2.1%) and Tech Mahindra (up 2.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,072.5 (up 0.2%). Shriram Transport and BPCL are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,512.4 to 81,803.5, registering a gain of 16,291.1 points (up 24.9%).

HPCL Financial Update...

HPCL net profit fell 95.9% YoY to Rs 2,459 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 60,658 million a year ago. Net sales rose 1.5% to Rs 1,209,433 million during the period as against Rs 1,191,623 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, HPCL reported 329.4% increase in net profit to Rs 160,146 million compared to net loss of Rs 69,802 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 2.2% to Rs 4,057,439 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HPCL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 10.3.
