HPL ELECTRIC & POWER share price has plunged 6% and is presently trading at Rs 530.3.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 71,502.4 (down 2.2%).

Among the top losers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are SKF India (down 3.6%) and BHEL (down 3.5%).

Honeywell Automation (up 0.8%) and GRINDWELL NORTON (up 0.3%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, HPL ELECTRIC & POWER has moved up from Rs 211.7 to Rs 530.3, registering a gain of Rs 318.6 (up 150.5%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 48,209.1 to 71,502.4, registering a gain of 48.3% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 121.7%), Siemens (up 108.8%) and BHEL (up 106.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 83,002.1 (down 1.5%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Asian Paints (down 3.0%) and Tata Motors (down 2.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are HDFC Bank and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,452.9 (down 1.3%). BPCL and Bajaj Auto are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,512.1 to 83,002.1, registering a gain of 17,490.0 points (up 26.7%).

HPL ELECTRIC & POWER Financial Update...

HPL ELECTRIC & POWER net profit grew 145.5% YoY to Rs 170 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 69 million a year ago. Net sales rose 22.5% to Rs 3,929 million during the period as against Rs 3,207 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, HPL ELECTRIC & POWER reported 287.6% increase in net profit to Rs 302 million compared to net profit of Rs 78 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 24.5% to Rs 12,622 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HPL ELECTRIC & POWER, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 63.5.
