SJVN Gains 5%; BSE POWER Index Up 0.0%

SJVN share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 131.9.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 8,748.0 .

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER index today are BHEL (up 2.2%) and Siemens (up 1.8%).

Power Grid Corp. (down 2.9%) and INDIAN ENERGY EXCHANGE (down 1.2%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, SJVN has moved up from Rs 69.9 to Rs 131.9, registering a gain of Rs 62.1 (up 88.8%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,622.9 to 8,748.0, registering a gain of 89.2% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were TORRENT POWER (up 165.8%), BHEL (up 129.2%) and ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 105.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 85,592.9 (down 0.3%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Power Grid Corp. (down 2.9%) and Bharti Airtel (down 2.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 26,201.9 (down 0.1%). Power Grid Corp. and Bharti Airtel are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,023.7 to 85,592.9, registering a gain of 19,569.2 points (up 29.6%).

SJVN Financial Update...

SJVN net profit grew 30.0% YoY to Rs 3,774 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 2,903 million a year ago. Net sales rose 29.0% to Rs 8,704 million during the period as against Rs 6,748 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, SJVN reported 32.9% decrease in net profit to Rs 9,114 million compared to net profit of Rs 13,593 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 12.2% to Rs 25,794 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of SJVN, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 51.6.
