Praj Industries Gains 6%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Down 0.1%

Praj Industries share price has zoomed 6% and is presently trading at Rs 801.8.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 73,483.0 (down 0.1%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are Lakshmi Machine (up 3.0%) and BHEL (up 2.1%).

L&T (down 1.7%) and Thermax (down 1.2%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Praj Industries has moved up from Rs 589.3 to Rs 801.8, registering a gain of Rs 212.5 (up 36.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 46,582.2 to 73,483.0, registering a gain of 57.7% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 130.0%), BHEL (up 128.9%) and Bharat Electronics (up 113.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 85,605.8 (down 0.3%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Power Grid Corp. (down 3.0%) and Bharti Airtel (down 2.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 26,201.9 (down 0.1%). Power Grid Corp. and Bharti Airtel are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,023.7 to 85,605.8, registering a gain of 19,582.1 points (up 29.7%).

Praj Industries Financial Update...

Praj Industries net profit grew 43.5% YoY to Rs 842 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 587 million a year ago. Net sales declined 5.1% to Rs 6,991 million during the period as against Rs 7,367 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Praj Industries reported 18.2% increase in net profit to Rs 2,834 million compared to net profit of Rs 2,398 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 5.3% to Rs 33,914 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Praj Industries, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 47.7.
