SAIL Gains 3%; BSE METAL Index Up 0.9%

SAIL share price has zoomed 3% and is presently trading at Rs 137.9.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 33,498.5 (up 0.9%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE METAL index today are Vedanta (up 1.9%) and Tata Steel (up 1.6%).

Coal India (down 0.4%) and APOLLO TUBES (down 0.1%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, SAIL has moved up from Rs 93.1 to Rs 137.9, registering a gain of Rs 44.8 (up 48.2%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved up from 22,741.0 to 33,498.5, registering a gain of 47.3% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were Vedanta (up 117.4%), Coal India (up 74.6%) and Hindustan Zinc (up 65.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 85,407.9 (up 0.3%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Maruti Suzuki (up 3.7%) and Tata Motors (up 2.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Power Grid Corp..

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 26,073.4 (up 0.3%). Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,023.7 to 85,407.9, registering a gain of 19,384.2 points (up 29.4%).

SAIL Financial Update...

SAIL net profit fell 116.7% YoY to Rs -249 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 1,491 million a year ago. Net sales declined 1.5% to Rs 239,978 million during the period as against Rs 243,591 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, SAIL reported 40.9% increase in net profit to Rs 30,667 million compared to net profit of Rs 21,765 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 0.9% to Rs 1,053,783 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of SAIL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 23.2.
