Power Grid Corp. Gains 3%; BSE POWER Index Up 0.4%

Power Grid Corp. share price has zoomed 3% and is presently trading at Rs 361.4.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 8,723.9 (up 0.4%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER index today are KEC INTERNATIONAL (up 3.4%) and Siemens (up 1.5%).

INDIAN ENERGY EXCHANGE (down 4.1%) and TORRENT POWER (down 1.5%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Power Grid Corp. has moved up from Rs 198.9 to Rs 361.4, registering a gain of Rs 162.5 (up 81.7%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,622.9 to 8,723.9, registering a gain of 88.7% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were TORRENT POWER (up 162.5%), BHEL (up 124.7%) and ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 102.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 84,928.6 .

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Axis Bank (up 1.1%) and M&M (up 0.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are HDFC Bank and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,921.4 (down 0.1%). LTIMINDTREE and Tech Mahindra are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,023.7 to 84,928.6, registering a gain of 18,904.9 points (up 28.6%).

Power Grid Corp. Financial Update...

Power Grid Corp. net profit fell 4.8% YoY to Rs 37,572 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 39,480 million a year ago. Net sales declined 0.4% to Rs 110,062 million during the period as against Rs 110,481 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Power Grid Corp. reported 1.0% increase in net profit to Rs 155,732 million compared to net profit of Rs 154,197 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 0.5% to Rs 458,431 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Power Grid Corp., based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 21.0.
