Wockhardt Gains 5%; BSE HEALTHCARE Index Down 0.6%

Wockhardt share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 1,004.5.

Meanwhile, the BSE HEALTHCARE index is at 43,483.6 (down 0.6%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE HEALTHCARE index today are SUVEN PHARMACEUTICALS (up 4.1%) and AJANTA PHARMA (up 2.2%).

FDC (down 4.5%) and ALEMBIC PHARMA (down 4.2%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Wockhardt has moved up from Rs 242.2 to Rs 1,004.5, registering a gain of Rs 762.3 (up 314.8%).

On the other hand, the BSE HEALTHCARE index has moved up from 28,508.7 to 43,483.6, registering a gain of 52.5% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE HEALTHCARE index stocks during this same period were Jubilant Pharmova (up 164.3%), SUVEN PHARMACEUTICALS (up 115.2%) and Glenmark Pharma (up 91.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 83,168.7 (up 0.3%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are NTPC (up 2.7%) and Nestle (up 2.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are NTPC and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,411.4 (up 0.1%). NTPC and Nestle are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 67,596.8 to 83,168.7, registering a gain of 15,571.8 points (up 23.0%).

Wockhardt Financial Update...

Wockhardt net profit grew 88.2% YoY to Rs -160 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a loss of Rs 1,360 million a year ago. Net sales rose 14.8% to Rs 7,390 million during the period as against Rs 6,440 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Wockhardt reported 24.0% increase in net profit to Rs -4,720 million compared to net loss of Rs 6,210 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 5.5% to Rs 27,980 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Wockhardt, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at -43.8.
