Reliance Power Gains 5%; BSE POWER Index Up 0.4%

Reliance Power share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 33.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 8,403.0 (up 0.4%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER index today are TORRENT POWER (up 3.8%) and NTPC (up 0.8%).

ADANI GREEN ENERGY (down 1.1%) and KEC INTERNATIONAL (down 1.1%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Reliance Power has moved up from Rs 19.1 to Rs 33.0, registering a gain of Rs 13.9 (up 72.9%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,664.3 to 8,403.0, registering a gain of 80.2% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were TORRENT POWER (up 155.8%), BHEL (up 110.1%) and ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 92.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 82,984.3 (down 0.1%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Tech Mahindra (down 1.9%) and Infosys (down 1.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Motors and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,394.2 (down 0.1%). Wipro and Tech Mahindra are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 67,596.8 to 82,984.3, registering a gain of 15,387.5 points (up 22.8%).

Reliance Power Financial Update...

Reliance Power net profit grew 66.5% YoY to Rs -983 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a loss of Rs 2,937 million a year ago. Net sales rose 4.1% to Rs 19,922 million during the period as against Rs 19,143 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Reliance Power reported 553.9% decrease in net profit to Rs -22,422 million compared to net loss of Rs 3,429 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 5.0% to Rs 78,926 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Reliance Power, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at -6.4.
