ADANI POWER Gains 6%; BSE POWER Index Up 2.0%

ADANI POWER share price has zoomed 6% and is presently trading at Rs 674.3.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 8,379.4 (up 2.0%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER index today are ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 7.3%) and Thermax (up 5.4%).

KEC INTERNATIONAL (down 1.5%) and INDIAN ENERGY EXCHANGE (down 0.1%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, ADANI POWER has moved up from Rs 386.2 to Rs 674.3, registering a gain of Rs 288.2 (up 74.6%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,601.3 to 8,379.4, registering a gain of 82.1% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were TORRENT POWER (up 147.1%), BHEL (up 114.5%) and ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 90.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 83,023.8 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are JSW Steel (up 2.1%) and NTPC (up 1.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,398.0 (up 0.2%). JSW Steel and NTPC are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 67,221.1 to 83,023.8, registering a gain of 15,802.7 points (up 23.5%).

ADANI POWER Financial Update...

ADANI POWER net profit fell 55.3% YoY to Rs 39,128 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 87,594 million a year ago. Net sales rose 35.9% to Rs 149,556 million during the period as against Rs 110,055 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, ADANI POWER reported 94.2% increase in net profit to Rs 208,288 million compared to net profit of Rs 107,266 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 29.9% to Rs 503,513 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of ADANI POWER, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 16.3.
