Engineers India Plunges 4%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Down 0.8%

Engineers India share price has plunged 4% and is presently trading at Rs 208.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 70,573.9 (down 0.8%).

Among the top losers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are Carborundum Universal (down 2.7%) and Bharat Electronics (down 2.1%).

L&T (up 0.2%) is among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Engineers India has moved up from Rs 162.3 to Rs 208.0, registering a gain of Rs 45.7 (up 28.2%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 45,901.9 to 70,573.9, registering a gain of 53.7% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 132.9%), Bharat Electronics (up 98.8%) and ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 92.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,234.3 (up 0.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Hindustan Unilever (up 1.8%) and ITC (up 1.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,852.0 . ONGC and Hindalco are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,780.3 to 81,234.3, registering a gain of 15,454.1 points (up 23.5%).

Engineers India Financial Update...

Engineers India net profit fell 49.4% YoY to Rs 589 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 1,164 million a year ago. Net sales declined 23.8% to Rs 6,238 million during the period as against Rs 8,183 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Engineers India reported 4.6% increase in net profit to Rs 3,602 million compared to net profit of Rs 3,442 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 1.4% to Rs 32,822 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Engineers India, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 38.6.
