JSW ENERGY Gains 3%; BSE POWER Index Up 1.3%

JSW ENERGY share price has zoomed 3% and is presently trading at Rs 746.7.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 7,915.7 (up 1.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER index today are Thermax (up 3.1%) and Power Grid Corp. (up 2.2%).

TORRENT POWER (down 1.7%) and NHPC (down 0.9%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, JSW ENERGY has moved up from Rs 274.4 to Rs 746.7, registering a gain of Rs 472.3 (up 172.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,046.4 to 7,915.7, registering a gain of 95.6% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 239.1%), ADANI POWER (up 183.0%) and Thermax (up 127.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 77,341.1 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are M&M (up 2.8%) and Power Grid Corp. (up 2.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and ICICI Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,537.8 (up 0.2%). M&M and Power Grid Corp. are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,523.2 to 77,341.1, registering a gain of 13,817.9 points (up 21.8%).

JSW ENERGY Financial Update...

JSW ENERGY net profit grew 17.5% YoY to Rs 3,384 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 2,881 million a year ago. Net sales rose 3.2% to Rs 27,559 million during the period as against Rs 26,700 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, JSW ENERGY reported 16.5% increase in net profit to Rs 17,247 million compared to net profit of Rs 14,801 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 11.2% to Rs 114,859 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of JSW ENERGY, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 76.4.
