Power Grid Corp. Gains 2%; BSE POWER Index Up 1.3%

Power Grid Corp. share price has zoomed 2% and is presently trading at Rs 333.1.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 7,915.7 (up 1.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER index today are Thermax (up 3.1%) and Siemens (up 2.2%).

TORRENT POWER (down 1.7%) and NHPC (down 0.9%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Power Grid Corp. has moved up from Rs 193.6 to Rs 333.1, registering a gain of Rs 139.5 (up 72.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,046.4 to 7,915.7, registering a gain of 95.6% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 239.1%), ADANI POWER (up 183.0%) and Thermax (up 127.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 77,341.1 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are M&M (up 2.8%) and Sun Pharma (up 1.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and ICICI Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,537.8 (up 0.2%). M&M and Shriram Transport are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,523.2 to 77,341.1, registering a gain of 13,817.9 points (up 21.8%).

Power Grid Corp. Financial Update...

Power Grid Corp. net profit fell 2.8% YoY to Rs 42,807 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 44,018 million a year ago. Net sales declined 2.5% to Rs 119,781 million during the period as against Rs 122,856 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, Power Grid Corp. reported 8.4% decrease in net profit to Rs 154,171 million compared to net profit of Rs 168,241 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 9.5% to Rs 455,813 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Power Grid Corp., based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 19.2.
